Since January 27th 2010 there is a new template on the SDN called Batch Manufacturing with SAP MII:
The batch manucfacturing templates extend the SAP MII architecture by providing prebuilt, plant and role-specific composites to support manufacturing preparation, execution, documentation and reporting. Batch manufacturing with SAP MII delivers preconfigured templates for 9 application areas – role-specific manufacturing operations cockpits, manufacturing order list, material identification, work instructions, quality control, production confirmation, shift book (for shift set-up, management and reporting), monitoring and logging, as well as manufacturing performance (KPIs and production report).

The work instructions part is using process instructions that are set up like instructions for a PI Sheet but are sent to an external system (destination type 2). That external system is an MII system which takes the control recipe, looks for known (pre-builtin) instruction categories and creates a PI-Sheet-like HTML version of those instructions. These built-in instructions offer a limited degree of flexibility which means that you can change some text elements (e.g. Input field description) or quantity fields (e.g. material quantity by means of automatic characteristic valuation) in your ERP setup. Any more severe changes will most probably need additional work on the MII template itself.

although I am late getting this information but I am glad to get it from here. I hope to get more information of this quality here.
Hi,
Is MII the only option for reporting from an EBR? We are now in need of analyzing and reporting on the data saved in our PI Sheets and we do not know how to do that. What are the SAP options? A printout is not an option.
Thanks,
