Dear XSTEPS GURU,
We are implementing XSTEPS for PPPI. IN PP, we defined XSTEPS via CMXSV and assigned it to the production scheduling profile via COCR_PROF. For every material which contains the said Prodn scehduling, teh XSTEPS is automatically copied in the production order. But in PPPI- process order, even though we have assigned the xsteps to the production scheduling, still, XSTEPS is not automatically copied to the process order. You ahve to manually assign/reference it to the order or to the master recipe. Is there a different approach in PPPI for XSTEPS geenration?
I would greatly appreciate your reply.
Thank you.

Hi All,
I am using ECC6 EHP4.
I have build up a recipe using Xstep to exchange parameter from on PI sheet to another PI sheet.
The value is created in the first one and the second displayed the result:
” but the value is not transferred.”
it is created according to sap Help:
Xstep1 node : LOCAL_PARAM parameter local and live
destination 10
Xstep1a Get value node: O_PARAM parameter output and ref to LOCAL_PARAM and live
Destination 10
Phase 20
PPPI_VARIABLE O_PARAM
PPPI_REQUESTED_VALUE PPPI_PARAMETER_VALUE
Xstep1b Display value node : I_PARAM parameter input and ref to LOCAL_PARAM and live
Destination 11
Phase 40
PPPI_OUTPUT_VARIABLE I_PARAM
I have also used sxs standard library without success.
How to check or debug why the value is not transferred?
Thanks for your help
Martial

Hi,
this is good. Having a common place, where we can discuss our open topic will help.
Great Arne
This is really a good effort to showcase the x-steps application.
Thanks!
BTW, may I ask why you moved XSteps blog out of SAP forums? Is it due to a policy change of SAP recently on SDN?
First of all as stated in the ‘About’ section this blog is my personal private blog. I did have a look at our SDN but I felt that such a specific topic as the XSteps cannot be handled in such a flexibility as I can do it in my own blog.
In SDN we have a big category called ‘Manufacturing’ where everything from ERP Manufacturing, MII to SAP ME is posted. There are no sub-categories and no tags.
Also I tried to start a new forum for XSteps in SDN but the administrator said that they already have an awful lot of forums in SDN which has a bad impact on the performance. So I did not pursue it further. Maybe I’ll start a forum on this site later on…
Hi Arne
I could not attend the sessions due to being in CA, USA( too early for me). I know the time zone balancing act becomes really tough. I do appreciate you diligently recording the meeting details for our use. Thank you
This is really good!
Unfortunately I am always seem to be booked on projects when you schedule the cafe. But I always look at the recordings.
I have a long way to go as a novice in process managament and xsteps.
I would like to register for any future communication. Thank you.
