Unfortunately there was only one SAP colleague online with me today and therefore I decided to skip this session. Probably there was some confusion about the correct time because in Germany the daylight saving time has ended last weekend. I added a red note on the News though…

In the future please always check your local time (e.g. with this link )

Tuesday, May 18, 2010 Archiving of PI Sheets and Electronic Work Instructions (OSS Pilot Note)
VN:F [1.9.22_1171]
Rating: 5.0/5 (2 votes cast)

The only way to archive PI Sheets and delete the corresponding database tables is to use the EBR functionality. For all other cases (Test PI Sheets or PP-based Electronic Work Instructions) archiving is not possible. However, deletion of old entries from the database becomes essential for maintaining the performance of the ERP system. In this article I describe a pilot note which solves this dilemma (Also explained in Web Session 11). Read more »

Monday, April 26, 2010 The Ultimate Guide to Type 0 Process Instructions
VN:F [1.9.22_1171]
Rating: 4.0/5 (4 votes cast)

With XSteps it is very easy to setup the instructions for PI Sheets. However there are still a lot of customers out there using the old-style process instructions. In the old days there were only the ABAP list-based PI Sheets and back then it was also relatively easy to create the process intructions (type 1 to 7) because there is the PI assistant available for these types. Since R/3 4.6c and the browser-based PI Sheets a new type 0 was introduced which allowed a much more flexible way of defining and combining different basic elements of an instruction in one single process instruction.

VN:F [1.9.22_1171]
Rating: 4.7/5 (3 votes cast)

There might be situations where you want to handle the adding of lines in a repeated data request (table) entirely with commands or with function modules and tabular parameters. In such a case you usually want to avoid that users can manually create new lines by pressing the small button at the bottom of the table. Here is a quick tip how to hide this button. Read more »
